Forensic Geriatrics

Forensic Geriatrics practice refers to work with attorneys and the legal system.

In this arena, Dr. Haber conducts comprehensive assessments for attorneys and their clients around such issues as:

  • cognitive capacities

  • decision-making abilities

  • functional abilities and deficiencies

  • care needs

  • estate planning

  • guardianships

Additionally, Dr. Haber has conducted many trainings of attorneys, clerks of court, law enforcement and protective services workers, among others, regarding issues pertaining to:

  • decision-making

  • capacity assessment

  • guardianship

  • elder abuse and neglect

She also serves as an expert witness around such issues as:

  • facility standards of care

  • professional standards of medical care

  • undue influence

  • elder abuse and neglect
